Frequently Asked Questions
The questions event organizers actually ask us. If yours is not here, call (209) 625-5563 — a real person answers.
Medical Coverage
What is event medical standby?
It means qualified medical personnel are physically on your site for the duration of your event, equipped and ready to treat. Instead of a bystander calling 911 and everyone waiting, a licensed clinician is with the patient in under a minute — assessing, treating, and deciding whether an ambulance is needed.
Who actually turns up — what qualifications do they hold?
Licensed Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics and Nurses. Our medical personnel work in teams of two or more, and they have decades of combined experience and training in emergency medical care.
Do you provide advanced life support (ALS), or just first aid?
Both. EMT-staffed teams provide basic life support — assessment, oxygen, bleeding control, splinting, spinal precautions and AED use. Paramedic-staffed teams add advanced life support: cardiac monitoring, advanced airway management, IV access and medication administration. Which one your event needs is part of the conversation when we quote.
What is in a first aid station?
Our mobile first aid stations are fully stocked with the supplies and equipment you would find in an ambulance, and staffed by teams of licensed EMTs, paramedics and nurses. They can provide everything from basic first aid, to heat injury prevention, to advanced life support.
How many medics does my event need?
There is no single answer, and anyone who quotes one without asking questions is guessing. It depends on peak attendance, how long the event runs, what people are doing (contact sport, obstacles, alcohol), the weather, the size and terrain of the venue, and how far the nearest hospital is. Tell us those things and we will recommend a specific number and level of care.
Do you replace calling 911?
No — we work with it. We operate in conjunction with local EMS systems and hospitals so that care is continuous from the point of injury through to treatment at a medical center. When a patient needs transport, we have already assessed and stabilized them, and the hand-off to the responding ambulance crew is organized rather than chaotic.
Our venue is huge. How do you reach someone quickly?
With bike medics, UTV crews and roving foot teams. A bike carrying a full response bag and an AED moves through a packed crowd far faster than any vehicle, and a utility vehicle handles long courses and rough ground. For large sites we usually combine a fixed, signposted station with mobile teams working the ground.
Security Coverage
What security services do you provide?
Crowd control, access control, security checkpoints, roving patrols, loss prevention and surveillance, using uniformed or plain-clothes officers. Our security personnel work in conjunction with the medical staff to help keep all your event guests safe.
Uniformed or plain clothes?
Whichever suits the event — and often both. Uniformed officers give visible deterrence and an obvious person for guests to approach. Plain-clothes officers are better for loss prevention and for watching a crowd without changing its behaviour.
Can we book medical and security together?
Yes, and it is the main reason clients come to us. One provider means one schedule, one briefing, one point of contact, and crews on shared communications. When an officer finds a casualty, the medics already know who and where. When a medic needs a path cleared, security is on the same channel.
Booking & Logistics
How much does it cost?
It is quoted per event, because the cost is driven by how many staff you need, at what level of care, for how many hours, and what equipment goes with them. Send us the details and you will get a written quote covering staffing, hours and equipment — no guesswork about what shows up on the day.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as you can. There is no fixed cut-off, but crews are scheduled per date, and popular weekends fill first. If your event is soon, call anyway — we will tell you honestly whether we can staff it.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Madera, California and cover the Central Valley and Northern California, including Madera County, Fresno County, Merced County, Stanislaus County, San Joaquin County, Sacramento County. We also travel for larger contracts — our crews have worked events as far south as the Los Angeles County Fair. If you are outside that area, call and ask.
Do you cover multi-day events, nights and weekends?
Yes. Single-day and multi-day, daytime and overnight. Our office hours are 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM seven days a week, but on-site coverage is scheduled around your event, not around the office.
Our venue, league or permit requires a certain level of cover. Can you meet it?
Usually, yes — send us the requirement in writing along with your event details and we will quote to it specifically, so what you book is what the requirement asks for.
What information do you need from me to quote?
Date, venue and city, expected attendance, start and finish times, the type of event, and anything unusual — alcohol service, contact sport, a course to cover, extreme heat, or a venue requirement you have to satisfy. The quote form asks for exactly these.
Still deciding? Describe the event on the phone and we will tell you what it needs — even if that turns out to be less than you expected. (209) 625-5563
